Coatings for sound roofs, inspections for every roof

A reflective roof coating adds one continuous layer over a metal or flat roof. It reflects sunlight and seals small gaps, which can extend the life of a roof that is still structurally sound.

A coating is not a fix for a failing roof, so every coating job starts with an inspection. Inspections are also worth doing after a major storm, before buying a building and when you are planning a budget.

What an inspection covers

  • Roof surface: tile, metal, shingle or membrane
  • Flashing at walls, vents, skylights and equipment
  • Seams, fasteners and edges
  • Drainage, gutters and ponding water
  • Signs of leaks inside the building

When a coating makes sense

  • The roof is structurally sound with no widespread damage
  • You want a cooler roof surface in summer
  • Seams and fasteners need resealing
  • A metal roof is rusting at the surface
  • You want to delay a full replacement
